Anyone into stencils?

Well, I spent a good 3 hours trying to cut this out properly while removing all the islands.

And for the life of me, I couldn't do it. Well, I could, but the parts I connected looked like utter shit and it ruined the whole picture. So, I decided to move on my own design to other more basic designs to practice my cutting. After reading up a little more on stencils, I stumbled across an article about multilayer stencils. And POW, it hit me, I could do that to my buddah.

Long story short:

And BAM.

When I finally figure out how to cut rounded corners better, I'll post my final canvas'd result.

you do stencils and you didn't think about multilayering them?
