Ever heard of the old country watermelon song?
It's beeen a really loong time since I last heard this song, and I was wondering if anyone knew the lyrics to it. I seem to have forgotten some of it.
Thanks. Watermelon song (I'm not sure who wrote it) You can talk about your apples your peaches and your pears Your simmons hangin' on your simmon tree But I bet you my honey Of all the fruit that grows That watermelon is the fruit for me Oh yes, oh hambone is sweet Chicken is good! Possum meat is mighty mighty fine! Oh, give me, oh give me I really wish you would That watermelon hangin' on that vine Oh, when I went to get it It was a stormy night The moon and stars had not begun to shine...... something something something That watermelon is the fruit for me. Oh yes, oh hambone is sweet Chicken is good! Possum meat is mighty mighty fine!

I can't say I know this song, but when you mentioned country and watermelon in the same sentence, my first thought went to The Watermelon Crawl by Tim McGraw. It's a silly, silly song, but the beat is uptempo and very catchy. If you're a country fan this will get your toes tappin'
